Here are some frequently asked questions about Huber Guitar Studio:

Where are you located?

Huber Guitar Studio is located in the Hampden neighborhood of Baltimore at 827 W. 35th St. It is
a home studio and parking is available on 35th St. or on one of the adjacent streets (Chestnut Ave
or Elm Ave).  Located near JHU and I-83, Huber Guitar Studio is a convenient location for people
who live/work downtown or are coming from points around the city. There are also bus lines that
stop near 35th St. on Chestnut Ave.

What are your guitar lesson rates?

My rates are $20 for a half-hour lesson or $35 for an hour lesson.  After the first 3 lessons, if the
student wishes to continue, he or she will be asked to pay for lessons on a monthly basis.
Exceptions to the monthly payment may be made for students with financial hardship.

Which length of lesson should I choose, half-hour or hour?

With the hour lesson the student will receive more detailed instruction than with the half-hour
lesson which is why beginner students usually choose the hour lessons. Half-hour lessons can be
great for intermediate or advanced students who are looking to fill in the gaps of their knowledge
of guitar.  With musical instrument lessons I believe that the frequency of the lessons is most
important.  That is why most of my students take lessons on a weekly basis.  A week is enough
time for a student to practice the concepts they've learned in a lesson. If more time elapses
between the lessons the student may begin to forget some of the concepts learned.

When do you teach guitar lessons?

I teach lessons Monday through Thursday in the afternoon and evening as well as Friday afternoon.
As of now I do not teach on the weekend because I usually play shows on weekends.

Do you have open time slots?

Yes. Because I have a pretty flexible schedule, I have several open time slots.  I'm sure we'll be able
to figure out a lesson time.

I am interested in purchasing lessons for a friend, do you have gift certificates?

Yes I do, you can purchase as many lessons as you like and I'll give you a gift certificate.

What is your guitar teaching experience?

I began teaching guitar in January of 2003 at Beverly's Music Emporium, a music store in Bel Air,
MD. There I taught many folks, young and old, how to play guitar. I had an average student roster
of about 25 people on any given week. Around the same time, when I moved to Baltimore City in
mid 2003, I began to take on students who would come to my home studio.  Since then, the
number of students who come to me in Baltimore has grown and now I teach exclusively out of my
home studio.

Do you have references?

Yes I do. If you fill out the form on the Huber Guitar Studio main page and ask for references, I'll
gladly send them to you.
